This tool was developed for the purpose of parsing product spec documents (in Microsoft Word format) and storing their contents in an Access database. Placing the product spec details in a structured database format allowed Glaxo's staff to search and run queries against the information.  The Electronics Specs Import Tool worked so well that other versions of it were created to import other types of spec documents.
